Director - West Region, Client Engineering — Portland, OR

Yesmail™ is a leading online relationship marketing company specializing in email marketing for customer acquisition and retention. Yesmail's solutions are the product of best practices and knowledge accumulated from tens of thousands of campaigns. We work with Fortune 1000 corporations such as Hewlett-Packard, Cingular, Macy's, Warner Bros, Aeropostale, Stanley Tools, Kodak, HSN to help them leverage the email channel to manage their customer lifecycle and get more performance out of the efforts. We take pride in our best practices accumulated and actively work to educate the marketplace how to approach email-marketing issues, including permission, privacy and avoiding channel burnout.

We are looking to further expand our market and product leadership by bringing in new engineering talent to help customize our application to each client's exact requirements.

The Director will lead a team to architect and implement custom solutions for Yesmail's clients. They will be focused on managing internal & external client relationships related to all technical components of the marketing programs. The Director must possess the leadership and technical skills to be a point of escalation and is empowered to make technical decisions based on organizational standards and guidelines. Design responsibilities include writing formal engineering specifications and developing time estimates for implementation. The Director will also have direct report responsibilities of team members and insure that engineering efforts produce high quality, low maintenance, and scalable solutions for clients. The Director will be work collaboratively across various functional teams to ensure company wide goals & objectives are met.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with client to customize Yesmail's email marketing and analytics application according to their unique marketing objectives and functional requirements.
  • Responsible for scope, design and implementation of all project work on the team.
  • Provide day to day assistance to onsite & offshore engineers and production developers to support the teams's accounts
  • Responsible to provide key office support related to all client engineering activities.
  • Responsible to streamline all process controls within the department to ensure quality of output
  • Responsible for Hiring, Firing, Mentoring & Performance Management activities.
  • Responsible to collaborate with account teams to grow client revenue.
  • Responsible to design & implement productized solutions based on client needs.

Experience

  • 8+ years experience developing and implementing business applications in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong Experience with SQL and Oracle databases including PL/SQL Stored Procedures, Functions, Packages.
  • Preferred skills with Java, XML, Web Services Technology with an eye for re-usable components.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills .

Education

BA/BS required, Computer Science or related degree preferred
