Lead QA Engineer — Toronto, Canada

As a senior member of the research and development team, this is a leading role in the quality engineering and assurance of our web based subscriber management and email campaign management solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Work side-by-side with the architects and software engineers of the team
  • Create test plans and test cases based on design artifacts
  • Coordinate and work closely with an off-shore QA team
  • Work with Product Management to determine quality benchmarks and software SLAs
  • Create and maintain critical automated testing scripts
  • Create and manage daily builds, and be responsible for production and QA configuration management
  • Champion the QA process within the team

Experience

  • Extensive experience in Software QA (min 5 years)
  • Experience and knowledge of the Agile development and testing methodology
  • Excellent working knowledge of automated testing tools such as Selenium, QTP, WinRunner etc.
  • Knowledge of Apache, JBoss, Tomcat web/app server platforms
  • Familiar with Web 2.0, AJAX, J2EE architecture and technologies
  • Working knowledge of RDBMS such as SQL Server and mySQL
  • Good general knowledge about Internet and Email related technologies
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Sense of urgency and ability to prioritize
  • Proven analytical and problem solving skills
  • Proven track record of superior performance
  • Ability to work in a fluid environment
  • Ability to foster an atmosphere of teamwork, professionalism and respect
  • Team player, especially in an Agile development environment

Education

University degree in CS, Engineering or another technical field
