Yesmail is a technology-based client service environment. We're doing some pretty exciting things at Yesmail, such as building out our Oracle RAC transaction environment and building an Oracle Data Guard data warehousing solution. Oracle is the core foundation for our systems, so we have a strategic commitment to Oracle RAC, with lots of opportunity to help put our next generation environment into production. Today we process close to a billion transactions per week, and our data is in the tens of terabytes and growing fast.
Responsibilities
Day to day maintenance and operation of production databases
Responsible for monitoring backup and recovery processes
Database administration support for application systems
Enforce standards and controls to ensure the integrity and security of the data resources both internal and external
Take part in database performance analysis
Participate in an on-call rotation schedule with other DBAs
Participate in cross-departmental teams as part of overall Operations responsibilities
Performs other miscellaneous duties as assigned by management
Experience
3+ years Oracle DBA experience, 2 of which are in a 24 x 7/365 production environment
Oracle performance tuning experience
Unix and/or Java scripting skills
Good communication skills, both written and verbal
Knowledge of Oracle database architecture including memory structures, sizing and tuning parameters
Thorough understanding of SQL and PL/SQL with the ability to debug and tune as necessary
This position requires a person who is a self-starter and capable of working in a team environment.
Education
Prefer BS degree or similar experience
Oracle certification preferred
